Doris Day (vlastním jménem Doris Mary Ann Kappelhoff) se narodila v roce 1922 nebo 1924 v Cincinnati ve státě Ohio. Na stránkách Americká filmová herečka a zpěvačka patřila k nejvýznamnějším filmovým herečkám a zpěvačkám nejznámějších a komerčně nejúspěšnějších hollywoodských hvězd konce 50. a začátku 60. let 20. století.
Rok 1944 znamená pro Doris Dayovou průlom ve filmové kariéře.
„Sentimental Journey”, který se stal hitem číslo jedna. Její první film, „Romance na širém moři”, promítaný v roce 1948, jí přinesl třetí hit číslo jedna „It's Magic”. Její skutečný průlom jako slavná filmová hvězda přišel s filmem s filmem „Pillow Talk”, za který získala svůj první filmový titul. a jedinou nominaci na Oscara.
